On of the primary reasons to establish DrillingVR was to explore how to create a Virtual Reality Training for DROPS (Dropped Object Prevention Scheme)

Dropped Objects are on of the main causes of harm to personnel in industrial and construction work sites. Through the members DROPS, we have proven that it is possible to completely eliminate this hazard through a combination of engineered solutions, robust policies and a trained competent workforce.

Where Dropped Objects still occur, lack of hazard awareness, competency and attitudes are often at the root of the incident.

The DROPS VR project aims to develop an immersive free training solution developed through volunteers and sponsors for the Oil & Gas Industry.
