DrillingVR recently organized and facilitated two virtual chapter meetings for the Southeast Asia Chapter of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC SEAC).
We leveraged Video, Email and Social Media Marketing to attract close to 100 attendees from Oil Majors, Drilling Contractors and Service Companies.
The first webinar featured a panel discussion with Industry leaders from Shell, Petronas, Sapura Energy, Japan Drilling, Maersk Drilling, Transocean and Vantage Drilling.
The Second Virtual Meeting featured two presentations on the current industry market outlook by IHS Markit and Rystad Energy
Participants were able to interact with the speakers using chat, Q&A and poll function in Zoom Webinar.
An important function of the IADC SEAC is to connect its members with one and other. During normal times it would organize regular face-to-face meeting in regional cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Yangon and Jakarta. Typically, participants would listen to a few presentations and then have a networking reception.
Its the networking reception that most participants would come for, but this is a little harder to achieve with the limitations of video calls in Zoom.
So in the second stage of the meetings, participant met in a virtual environment where they could interact with each other using an avatar they can control with their computer, mobile phone or Virtual Reality headset.
